A Wildwood motorcyclist who ignored a police officer’s warning was detained on Meggison Road in The Villages.
An officer was patrolling the roads at the southern end of The Villages when he noticed a rider on a black motorcycle, later identified as 26-year-old Jesse Lee Pawloski, in front of him around 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
The officer recognized the North Carolina tag and motorcycle from a prior stop, when he charged Pawloski with no motorcycle endorsement. According to the complaint, he checked the tag to confirm his hunch and then halted the motorcycle.
The officer then asked Pawloski for his driver’s license, which revealed that he had been stopped on April 1. He questioned Pawloski if he had a motorcycle endorsement, and he said no. According to the report, he received fines for failing to notify DHSMV of an address change and not having a motorcycle endorsement.
Pawloski was also told not to ride his motorcycle until he had an endorsement. According to the article, he was warned that if he was caught again without one, he would be arrested.
The officer was watching traffic on Meggison Road at 2:13 p.m. when he noticed the same black motorbike approaching him. He then launched another traffic stop and arrested Pawloski, according to the report.
The Georgia resident was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license and sent to the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after paying a $150 bond.
