A St. Louis County man has been charged after his roommate’s body was discovered hidden behind blankets and covers.
Terrence Smith has been charged with one count of abandoning a corpse.

According to court records, St. Louis County Police conducted a welfare check at the 8800 block of Dragonwyck Drive on January 21.
The welfare check was conducted following a request from a family member and the property management of the woman who lived there.
Officers discovered the woman lying on the couch with multiple blankets and covers on top of her.
She had no pulse, was cold to the touch, and showed symptoms of decomposition.
She was pronounced deceased.
Neighbors said they hadn’t seen her since mid-December 2025. Her last social media post came on December 15.
It was stated that Smith had been inside the house the day before the woman’s body was discovered.
On Monday, Smith returned home. The police were notified.
Smith was arrested and acknowledged to living in the house with the woman.
