3 people shot, 2 fatally, at Near West Side White Castle

Chicago police said three people were shot, two of them fatally, at a White Castle on Chicago’s Near West Side on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said at about 1:20 p.m., three men were inside a car at the fast food restaurant in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road near Western Avenue.

Police said three armed men approached them and opened fire on the car. During the shooting, the car caught fire.

CPD said that a 35-year-old man was declared dead at the site. A 48-year-old man was struck in the chest and sent to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The third man, a 44-year-old, was struck in the back and rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in good condition, police say.

The armed men then left the scene. There are no arrests at this time, and investigators are conducting an investigation.
