A woman was charged on Thursday after police say she fired a gun at an employee inside a Kirkwood restaurant.
St. Louis County Prosecutors have charged Aaliyah Moorehead with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a firearm, first-degree property damage, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Moorehead, her 9-year-old daughter, and her pregnant sister were found at a restaurant in the 300 block of South Kirkwood Road on Wednesday, according to police. She is being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $150,000 cash bond with no 10%.
Moorehead claimed that her sister’s dinner was improperly prepared, which made her unhappy. According to police, Moorehead was asked to leave but refused.
Moorehead then threw food and a chair at an employee, according to records. Moorehead allegedly pulled out a gun and shouted, “You’re going to get it,” before firing a shot at the employee.
Moorehead fired the gun when her daughter was stepping between her and the employee, according to police.
According to court documents, no one was hit by gunfire, but the bullet caused damage to a refrigerator and a wall.
Moorehead was stopped by police around a mile from the eatery.
Police assert that surveillance video captured the entire incident, and Moorehead admitted to firing the gun.
