A woman was shot numerous times inside a car on the city’s South Side late Friday night.
The Chicago Police Department reported that officers arrived about 10:35 p.m. to the 800 block of N. Leamington Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.

The 27-year-old woman was inside a car when she heard gunshots and felt discomfort, according to authorities.
The car came to a halt, and she exited and ran before phoning 911.
Chicago Fire Department officials responded and treated her on the site. She was then taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.
She’d been shot several times in the right arm.
Detectives in the area are conducting an investigation.
