A Central Florida woman who allegedly pretended to be a dentist has been arrested in Orange County.
Yorlady Bedoya-Rendon, 46, recently appeared in court, and a judge declared, “You were arrested for practicing dentistry without a license.”
Sheriff’s investigators stated that this isn’t the first time she’s been in problems with the law.
In 2025, she and her brother Carlos Bedoya-Rendon were arrested on charges of practicing dentistry without a license and operating out of a disused Hunters Creek office.
The suspects referred to the business as “4D Design Your Smile.”
Channel 9 spoke with a man who works next door to the previous business.
“A lot of police came by, and they took everything, so it was pretty crazy,” Kendrick Ocana said.
According to court documents, the siblings shaved down a victim’s $7,000 implants and inserted a bridge with a crown inside, then charged $2,500.
MBI detectives reported that more victims have come forward since the arrest was made public. They stated that this is why Yorlady Bedoya-Rendon was arrested again, and her brother will face the same charges.
Eyewitness News spoke with Dr. Brenna Keever, a qualified dentist who is not involved in this case. She stated that the public can look for a legitimate dentist on the Florida Department of Health’s website or through the Florida Dental Association.
“It’s simply dreadful. Sometimes individuals do it because they can’t afford the real thing,” Keever added. She went on to say that attempting to repair it again could be even more expensive.
“Patients should be aware that if they go to any provider who is unlicensed, there can be painful, costly, or even permanent consequences to that.”
Keever recommended that consumers speak with their dentist about getting a discount or adopting a payment plan to acquire the care they require.
