A super speeder was arrested in Central Florida on his way to Miami to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey warned the community about Operation Slow Down so they wouldn’t have to learn the hard way, like Marwan Frouh.
A deputy from the BCSO Traffic Enforcement Unit was continuing local efforts on I-95 when he noticed a vehicle moving through traffic at a high rate of speed. The excessive speed was corroborated by his radar, which initially registered the vehicle at 97 MPH before it accelerated, according to law enforcement.
The deputy pursued the vehicle and, by the time he caught up with him, he had registered Frouh’s vehicle at 108 MPH while passing other cars, according to BCSO. Frouh made the wise decision to pull over and display an out-of-state driver’s license, which the Sheriff said was a sign that he didn’t know “what happens when you mess around in Brevard County.”
According to local police, Marwan Frouh claimed he was on his way to Miami to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday. “Unfortunately for him, he was going to be taking a detour to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge first, as he was placed under arrest for dangerous and excessive speeds,” Wayne Ivey, the sheriff, said.
“Folks, we shouldn’t have to tell everyone to drive safe and follow the laws, but clearly some people need the reminder!! So take this as another warning, because we’re still out there and we are not going away!!”
