Six people were hospitalized following a suspected mass overdose in downtown Indianapolis on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on February 11 at the Julia Carson Transit Center in the 200 block of East Washington Street, between Delaware and Alabama streets.
An IMPD spokesperson stated that an officer working off-duty discovered “several unresponsive individuals and called for assistance.”
An IEMS official told 13News that six individuals with “related symptoms” were discovered in various locations throughout the area.
Two people were transferred to Methodist Hospital, two to Eskenazi Hospital, and two to Community Hospital East, according to an IEMS representative. Some patients required respiratory help.
According to police, all individuals are adults, with three in serious condition and three “stable.”At this time, no narcotics have been found on the scene. As a result, IMPD cannot confirm the substance, if any, consumed by these people,” the police official stated.
