A Maumee woman is facing child endangerment charges after Nationwide Children’s Hospital staff accused her of injecting feces into her child’s IV.
According to the criminal complaint, on February 6, staff observed Tiffany Le Sueur, 35, injecting a foreign substance into her child’s intravenous port.
Staff informed Columbus Police at the time, stating that Le Sueur’s future trips would be monitored.
Then, on February 8, staff reported to officers that Le Sueur had injected what they suspected to be human feces into the child’s IV.
She was apprehended by police, and the youngster was treated by medical professionals.
Officers were told by hospital officials that they had reviewed security video from the patient’s room, which purportedly showed Le Sueur entering the restroom with a cup. According to the complaint, she used a syringe to inject what appeared to be fecal matter into the child’s left hand’s IV line.
She appeared in court on Tuesday and was instructed not to have unsupervised contact with youngsters as part of her bail.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 19.
