A retail theft mission conducted by Tigard police resulted in nine arrests last week.
Officers carried out the assignment on February 5, collaborating with loss prevention specialists at a Tigard Fred Meyer.
The nine people were arrested for a variety of offenses. The arrests included 13 warrants.
“By doing this in a more proactive way, we are already there and we are watching criminal activity in real time,” said Kelsey Anderson with Tigard police. “When somebody actually leaves the store with stolen merchandise, then we have officers and detectives in place who are ready to make arrests on site rather than having to track these people down the road later.”
