11-year-old Taken Into Custody For Making Threats Against Ohio School

An 11-year-old was arrested Friday after authorities were alerted to online threats against a local junior high school, according to police.

The Lancaster Police Department stated that police became aware of the threats late Thursday night and located the juvenile shortly afterward. Law enforcement took the child into custody without incident.

Officials stressed that there is currently no known threat to students or the general public, and school administrators have not reported any relevant occurrences at General Sherman Junior High School.

No charges have been announced, and authorities are still investigating the circumstances around the messages. Additional information was not immediately available.
