Human Remains Discovered At Mississippi Campsite By Hunters In 2024 Identified

The human remains discovered by Mississippi hunters at a campsite inside the Delta National Forest last year have been identified.

The Sharkey County Coroner’s Office reports that the skeletal remains discovered in November 2024 have been identified as Randolph Haley Jr., 40. The identity was announced on February 11, 2026.

The remains were discovered when two hunters came to a campground around four miles away from Dummy Line Road. After noting a strong stink in the area, the hunters explored and discovered skeletal remains. They immediately contacted law enforcement.

A homicide investigation was opened following the discovery. Officials have not disclosed any information concerning Haley’s death, and the investigation is still underway.
