Two Philadelphia residents are facing various narcotics charges after police claim they were found selling heroin and crystal methamphetamine from an Altoona hotel room.
The Altoona Police Department notified investigators of possible drug activity at the Wingate by Wyndham hotel on Chestnut Avenue in Blair County.
On Friday, February 6, officers conducted a “knock and talk” in a second-floor room. Police said they made contact with Ajee Chriswell, 31, and William Matthews, 21, both of Philadelphia.
Authorities say they held the pair while they searched the room.
During the search, authorities discovered 26 packets of suspected heroin concealed under a fake salt bottle. Investigators reportedly reported seizing one gram of crystal methamphetamine, more than $1,100 in cash, and narcotics packaging materials.
Chriswell and Matthews were brought to Blair County Prison and face several drug-related crimes, including possession with intent to deliver.
Officials said each suspect’s bail was set at $300,000.
