A man wanted in connection with a double homicide in North Carolina was apprehended in Ohio after a coordinated multi-state manhunt, according to a statement released online by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Caleb Hayden Fosnaugh was arrested without incident, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields confirmed. Fosnaugh is the principal suspect in the Woodlake double homicide case in Moore County, North Carolina.
The arrest was the product of all-day cooperation between North Carolina investigators and Ohio law enforcement agencies, according to sheriff’s authorities. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office gave specific support.
“This is a tragic and senseless loss of life,” Fields said. “Our hearts go out to the families of the victims during this difficult time. We are grateful for the swift coordination and assistance from our law enforcement partners in bringing this individual into custody.”
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in the arrest.
Despite the arrest, investigators maintain that the case remains active. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.
