A second woman has pleaded guilty to her role in a Miller County mail-theft ring.
Rose Cooper, 58, of Kaiser, and Tammy Schnieders, 49, of Eldon, were arrested in November 2024 after the Miller County Sheriff’s Office received a report that things had been stolen from an Eldon mailbox. The victim was able to give deputies a description of the car involved.

An Eldon police officer later stopped a truck matching that description. Cooper, who was driving, informed authorities that she and Schnieders had stolen from multiple mailboxes in the Eldon and Camdenton areas. She claimed they threw away most of the mail, but the deputy discovered her in possession of a bracelet addressed to an Eldon address.
Cooper pled guilty on Tuesday to two charges of stealing a mail or delivery item. She was sentenced to four years in prison. Schnieders faces the same charges.
In a separate instance, Schnieders and her accomplice, Deborah Holloway, 53, are accused of forgery and theft of a mail or delivery item. The pair is accused of stealing a $144 check from the mail in October 2024 and cashing it at a local bank. They also took packages shipped by Amazon, FedEx, and UPS.
Schnieders faces a plea hearing on both charges in March.
Holloway already pled guilty and received a seven-year sentence.
