Southern California Man Stopped With Over 60 Pounds Of Methamphetamine Near Oregon Border

A traffic stop in Siskiyou County resulted in the seizure of approximately 61 pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of a man from Southern California, according to Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) officers.

On Thursday, February 19, at around 1:30 p.m., an SCSO sergeant assigned to the Domestic Highway Enforcement Team stopped a 2013 Kia Optima for a number of offenses. During the stop, the sergeant noticed “numerous criminal indicators,” prompting a search of the vehicle.

During the search, deputies discovered roughly 61 pounds of methamphetamine in the Kia’s trunk, according to SCSO.

A 40-year-old man from Anaheim, California, was detained on suspicion of felony possession and transportation of dangerous substances for sale. He was taken to the Siskiyou County Jail and booked.
