Suspects apprehended after robbery of woman at gunpoint in Clairton

The three suspects in an armed robbery in Clairton have been apprehended.

According to the Clairton Police Department, a woman in her 60s was robbed at gunpoint on the 600 block of Third Street early Saturday.

The department shared video and photos of the people they believe are guilty in the hopes that the public can recognize them.

On Thursday, the department praised the community for their assistance, stating that the suspects were identified using witness testimony, security video, inter-agency cooperation, and other information.

Clairton police, Allegheny County SWAT, and the Elizabeth Township K-9 team carried out a search warrant at the suspects’ residence, according to the department. However, the culprits remained at large, and police begged community members to come forward with any additional information.

Hours later, the department confirmed that all of the suspects had been detained.

“This outcome is the result of relentless police work, strong partnerships, but most importantly, a strong community,” the department said on social media. “Because of your tips, your awareness, and your willingness to come forward, we were able to identify, locate, and take these individuals into custody.”
