A 40-year-old Perry Township man wanted on felony charges was apprehended Tuesday after police say he fled from officers in an SUV and drove through residential yards in Stark County.
According to the Massillon Police Department, investigators attempted to serve Nelson White with a felony arrest warrant soon after 3 p.m. on February 24 at a home in the 200 block of Elmford Avenue SW.

According to police, while officers attempted to arrest White, he fled in an SUV, prompting a brief pursuit. Officers called off the chase after losing sight of the car.
While searching the area, officers responded to a reported hit-skip accident in which witnesses described the fleeing SUV. A short time later, the vehicle was discovered abandoned on the 2800 block of Kipling Avenue NW in Jackson Township.
Police used a K-9 unit and a drone crew to search the surrounding communities. White was arrested around 3:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of Hills and Dales Road NW.
He was taken to the Stark County Jail and jailed on an outstanding felony warrant for menacing by stalking (a fourth-degree felony) and assault (a first-degree misdemeanor). Authorities said that additional charges are pending.
