Keith Poirier is enjoying a major victory in western Massachusetts.
The Greenfield resident won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” fast ticket game, lottery officials announced on Monday.
Poirier picked the cash option for his reward, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes, according to lottery officials.
He informed lottery authorities that he intended to save his riches for retirement.
He bought his winning ticket at Sandri, 295 Federal St., Greenfield.
The retailer will receive a $10,000 incentive for selling this ticket.
