Two teenage girls reportedly managed a suspected kidnapping in Los Angeles over the weekend by jumping out of a moving vehicle.
The incident unfolded Sunday evening in the North Hills neighborhood when the girls, aged 12 and 16, were strolling together near North Hills Park at Columbus Avenue and Acre Street about 5:20 p.m. when they were approached by a man inside a car, according to KTLA.

Police said the offender, who is still at large and unknown, repeatedly offered them a ride.
According to several sources, the girls eventually entered the van after declining the first two times they were approached, near Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue. According to authorities, the man then shut the doors and drove away from the area.
Detective Efren Gutierrez told ABC7 that the suspect took the girls to a cul-de-sac near Sunburst Street and Lemona Avenue, rather than the address they had provided. Gutierrez claimed that when he arrived, he shut the doors, offered the girls money, wine, and drugs, and unbuttoned his shorts while requesting sexual favors in exchange for money.
Eventually, both girls were able to flee the truck. One exited the automobile while it was still, while the other leaped out while it was moving. Authorities stated that neither girl was physically wounded.
According to KTLA, the suspect is a 21-year-old Hispanic boy with black hair and brown eyes who weighs around 200 pounds and has tattoos on both arms. He was last spotted driving an old-model four-door sedan with an unknown registration plate.
