A St. Tammany Parish teacher has been apprehended after authorities say he slapped Band-Aids on students’ mouths as punishment.
According to the Pearl River Police Department, the incident occurred at Riverside Elementary School and involved seven students aged 8 to 10.

According to investigators, 38-year-old George Serban reportedly placed Band-Aids over the students’ mouths as they were chatting in class.
Serban has been charged with simple battery and cruelty to juveniles, according to officials.
The case is still under investigation.
