A former US Marine Corps intelligence analyst has been charged in Missouri with willfully transmitting national defense information.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri, 35-year-old Seth Chambers of Cabool faces two counts in an indictment returned by a Springfield grand jury under seal and made public on Friday.
Chambers was allegedly employed as a civilian contractor and stationed in Iraq during the time specified in the indictment.
Chambers had top secret security clearance at the time, but he sent documents to two people who did not have it.
If convicted, Chambers could face up to ten years in federal prison without parole on each count.
