Ohio Lottery players may want to check their pockets since someone who bought a ticket in the Buckeye State is suddenly a multimillionaire.
A winning Mega Millions ticket purchased in Ohio on St. Patrick’s Day is worth $60 million. According to a news release from the Ohio Lottery, the auto-pick ticket was purchased at Tyler’s Short Stop, located inside a Sunoco gas station at 714 E. Main St. in Van Wert.

According to the lottery, the winning numbers for the drawing on Tuesday, March 17, were 4-11-18-38-50, with the Mega Ball being 24.
The lottery gives the ticket-holder 180 days to redeem the prize, which runs until September 13. If the prize is unclaimed, Ohio will get its half, which will go to the education fund.
There are two ways to receive the winnings. The winner has the option of receiving $27.1 million in cash or the entire $60 million in annuity payments over 30 years.
The last jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in Ohio on April 18, 2025, shortly after Mega Millions organizers announced a restructuring of the game. The $112 million ticket was sold at a Giant Eagle in South Euclid.
The lottery reported that Ohio has produced 22 Mega Millions jackpot winners and 65 second-tier wins of $1 million or more since joining the multi-state game in May 2002. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 290,472,336.
