A federal grand jury in Phoenix returned a superseding indictment against Laurence Gray, of Hereford, Arizona.
Gray was charged with attempting to offer material assistance to a foreign terrorist organization and conspiring to provide support to a designated foreign terrorist organization in 2025, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
Gray, the owner of Grips by Larry, a federally licensed firearms dealer in Arizona, was previously indicted for firearms trafficking in 2025, along with Barrett Weinberger of Tucson.
The indictment claims that Gray deliberately attempted to provide firearms to cartels in May 2025 and conspired to provide firearms to both CJNG and CDS that same year.
On February 20, 2025, the U.S. Secretary of State labeled both of these cartels as international terrorist organizations, prosecutors said.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide operation that deploys the Department of Justice’s entire resources to combat cartels and multinational criminal organizations.
