The US Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) apprehended three violent fugitives in Cleveland and Akron within 24 hours.
Early Wednesday morning, NOVFTF members apprehended a guy wanted by Cleveland Police for aggravated murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Tyrell Small, 31.
According to the announcement, on February 6, Cleveland Police responded to a complaint of a male who had been stabbed near West 94th Street and Denison Avenue. When authorities arrived, they administered life-saving measures to Small, but he died later.
On February 13, Marshals announced a warrant had been issued for Devin Terrell Robinson, 22, and detectives were looking for him.
On Wednesday, Cleveland and Painesville police investigators were led to a home in the 3900 block of Mount Herman Avenue.
Marshals said that while police searched the home for Robinson, they discovered and detained Joshamee Transou, 28.
Transou was wanted by the Painesville Police Department for felonious assault, but the charges were raised to attempted murder following a shooting in 2023, according to the release.
On Thursday morning, the Akron Division of the NOVFTF arrested Philip Mayfield, 39, in the 700 block of Hazel Street.
According to the announcement, Mayfield was wanted in connection with a homicide in which he reportedly drove over a victim with his car on March 18.
He was initially charged with felonious assault, but when the victim died a few days later, the charges were upgraded to homicide, according to Marshals.
Three violent suspects have been arrested in 24 hours by members of our task force. These three fugitives caused havoc in our communities and will now face the charges against them, hopefully ensuring justice for each of the victims in their cases.
