Authorities have charged seventeen people in connection with the takedown of a drug trafficking ring in North Philadelphia.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced the arrests, which include the group’s alleged leader, 56-year-old Louis Alexander.
Last week, law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at 30 locations in Philadelphia, Delaware County, and sections of New Jersey, following what police described as a years-long investigation.
Authorities reported that the operation resulted in the confiscation of substantial quantities of illegal narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, and other medications. Investigators also discovered cash and over two dozen guns.
Officials claimed the allegations stem from a thorough investigation of the organization’s drug distribution activities in the area.
The case is still underway.
