A Houston woman is accused of trafficking nearly half a million dollars worth of cocaine on I-10 while a young child was in her car.
On March 31, investigators from the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force stopped 52-year-old Kim Hill on I-10 near Iowa, according to police.

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kayla Vincent, detectives observed a 5-year-old child in the front passenger seat and discovered no child restraint systems inside the vehicle.
Investigators observed indicators of illicit behavior in the automobile and asked to search it, but Hill refused, Vincent said. K-9 Buck, a qualified drug detection dog, was deployed and detected the stench of drugs.
According to Vincent, detectives inspected the automobile and discovered 12 items stashed inside the truck. The contents, totaling 29.8 pounds, tested positive for cocaine.
Vincent calculated that the seized drugs were worth $500,000 on the street.
Hill was arrested and put into Calcasieu Parish Jail on the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute
- Cruelty to juveniles
Hill’s bond was set at $3,750,000. DCFS and the CPSO Special Victims Unit turned over the 5-year-old to a family member.
