According to the Newburyport Daily News, Cheevers is the son of Boston Bruins Hall of Fame goaltender Gerry Cheevers.

According to Leicester Police, Cheevers has a warrant issued by Leicester District Court for stealing over $1,200 via a single scheme. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Newburyport District Court for the same offense, as well as a warrant issued in Clark County, Nevada, for burglary, felony theft, and inadequate funds.

Cheevers was arraigned in East Brookfield District Court and is being held in the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Jail on cash bail.

The Newburyport Police Department, North Andover Police Department, Boston Police Department, and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office all supported the Leicester Police Department in their investigation.
