Gang member found guilty after ‘wreaking havoc’ in South Dallas neighborhood, selling drugs out of commercial storefront, DOJ says

A gang member who called to himself as a drug lord on social media was found guilty of drug and gun crimes this week after officials claimed he “wreaked havoc” on a south Dallas neighborhood by selling hundreds of pounds of drugs from a storefront and marketing a signature strain of marijuana, according to federal officials.

A Dallas federal jury convicted 40-year-old Jamarian Augustus Hewitt a.k.a. Zillionaire JJ was charged with several narcotics trafficking and gun offenses following a years-long ATF effort to locate gang members in South Dallas. Hewitt is a member of the Four Deuce Oakland Crip gang, according to a Department of Justice press release.

He was found guilty of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, two counts of firearm possession in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, one count of using a cell phone in furtherance of a drug offense, and one count of illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon, according to the release.

According to the press release, evidence given to the jury revealed that Hewitt and other gang members distributed a range of illegal substances from several stores and apartments along the Malcolm X corridor in South Dallas on a daily basis.

Hewitt ran Zillionaire Exotic Pop, a business at 3401 S. Malcolm X Blvd., where he sold methamphetamine, cocaine, and 200 to 300 pounds of marijuana weekly, according to the release. Federal officials also discovered that he marketed codeine combined with luxury sodas, known as “purple drank.”

Jurors found images from a social media account linked to Hewitt, including one titled “I am a drug lord,” according to the statement. According to the release, other posts touted marijuana sales from his shop as well as gang activity.

“The residents living and working in the Malcolm X Boulevard neighborhood had been living in fear due to the havoc wreaked by the Four Deuce Oakland Crip gang members’ criminal activities,” U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould stated in a press statement. “With this verdict, Hewitt has been held accountable and faces a potential lifetime sentence, which should restore a sense of peace to the Malcolm X Boulevard neighborhood.”

During a search of Hewitt’s business, authorities discovered a kilogram of methamphetamine pills, massive quantities of marijuana, which Hewitt promoted as “Zillionaire Marijuana,” and several guns, officials claimed. Other stores and apartments were searched, revealing multiple pounds of marijuana, kilograms of PCP, substantial quantities of cocaine, and more than two dozen guns.

Agents also discovered a live alligator at one of the properties.

According to the announcement, the arrest is part of a yearlong ATF operation that began in January 2024. Operation Blue Laces intended to identify gang members who were committing crimes along Malcolm X Boulevard in Dallas. The operation aimed to address locals’ concerns that Four Deuce Oakland Crip gang members “had taken over the area and created an environment of fear and lawlessness.”

Hewitt is due to be sentenced on August 12, 2026, and faces a minimum of 20 years to life in federal prison and a $10 million fine, according to the DOJ.
