The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of two individuals following a drug trafficking investigation.
Annetta Lambert and Kevin Roush were arrested Friday evening after deputies conducted a search warrant at an apartment on North Second Avenue in Middleport. The search was part of a larger probe involving potential drug activity.
Deputies said that as they entered the home, a woman rushed into a room where a huge bag of suspected fentanyl was reportedly being tampered with in an attempt to conceal it.
Several people were held inside the residence, and deputies reported that five juveniles were also there. Child Protective Services was notified.
During the search, officers discovered a large bag of suspected methamphetamine and additional suspected methamphetamine in Roush’s possession.
Lambert and Roush were both charged with possessing narcotics. Lambert faces additional narcotics-trafficking and evidence-tampering allegations.
Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch issued a statement condemning drug activities involving children and warning that authorities will continue to pursue anyone responsible.
The investigation is underway.
