According to Constable Mark Herman’s office, authorities apprehended an aggravated robbery suspect following a high-stakes chase that finished with an on-foot pursuit near FM 1960 Bypass Road West. Yesterday afternoon, deputies responded to a heist at an Aldi Grocery Store, where the suspect, later identified as Jeremiah Martinez, allegedly threatened employees with a pistol before fleeing with stolen merchandise.
Shortly after the incident, constable deputies discovered Martinez’s vehicle, resulting in a vehicular chase and a foot race after the culprit abandoned his car. He refused to stop for a traffic stop, so deputies attempted to detain him in the 9400 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road W. Martinez was finally apprehended and taken into jail. He was charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest in a motor vehicle, and his bond was set at $65,000.00 by the 486th District Court.
“Jeremiah Martinez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest in a motor vehicle,” Constable Mark Herman’s Office said in an official statement.
