Woman Wanted On Drug Charges Detained For Driving With Suspended License In Leesburg

A woman from Orlando is being held on an Orange County warrant for drug charges after being arrested in Leesburg for driving with a suspended license.

Around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy noticed a white Ford F-150 going north on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Leesburg, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. As he ran the plate, he discovered that the registered owner, 32-year-old Jordan Autumn Taylor, had a suspended license and an active Orange County warrant.

The deputy then halted the car at South 14th and Gunston Streets. He approached the car and asked for Taylor’s license and registration. She handed over her license but stated that it was suspended. She also claimed to be on her way to deal with it, according to the report.

After establishing Taylor’s identity, the deputy checked to see if the warrant was still outstanding. Orange County reacted by stating that they will extradite her for the warrant, which charged her with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the article.

Taylor was subsequently arrested for driving with a suspended license and taken to Lake County Jail. She was released on her own recognizance for the accusation, which means she must appear in court on July 17. However, she is currently being held by Orange County on a warrant.
