Residents in North and Central Texas should expect scattered showers and thunderstorms on Monday, with some areas east of I-35 experiencing heavy rain and some flooding. Storms may cause interruptions to outdoor activities.

According to a US National Weather Service Fort Worth, Texas, advisory released on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 5:55 PM, the storms are likely to be most widespread along and east of I-35. While some areas may experience quick, strong downpours, others may completely escape this bout of rains.

Minor flooding, frequent lightning, and strong gusts are among the most serious risks. Cities such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Sherman, and Paris are in the broader coverage region, although Waco and Killeen to the south may experience more isolated activity. Drivers should be especially careful of unexpected drops in visibility and potential ponding on roads. Rain chances are forecast to decrease from west to east on Monday night.

It is recommended to secure any unsecured outdoor goods and prepare for sudden changes in weather conditions. Those with outdoor plans should have a backup plan or consider rescheduling. Warnings will continue in effect until Monday, and citizens should be informed about local warnings, especially if traveling inside the affected areas.
