On May 24, 2025, around 3:00 a.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting complaint in the 6200 block of East Grand Avenue in East Dallas.
When authorities arrived, they located Jose Melecio Martinez, 36, suffering from a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded, but Martinez was pronounced dead on the site.

Following the inquiry, Angie Lopez, 23, was arrested and sent to the Lew Sterrett Jail. She is charged with murder, and her bond has been set at $1 million.
