A man has been detained for viciously attacking a woman with a hammer at a bus stop in northwest Miami-Dade, according to authorities.
Bryant Renardo Rose, 29, is charged with attempted murder in the Friday attack, according to jail and court documents.

According to an arrest report, the incident occurred in the 9600 block of Northwest 27th Avenue, where witnesses stated that the victim was seated on a bus bench when somebody approached her and struck her several times in the head with a hammer.
Chinwe Onyiuke, 46, was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in severe condition and later had surgery for head injuries.
Rose later phoned officials and stated his intention to turn himself in, and he was arrested and booked into jail, according to the report.
The report did not specify a possible motive for the attack.
