A man has been arrested in connection with a series of armed robberies at dollar stores in Miami-Dade, authorities said.
Rabergens Collot, 27, was arrested Monday on three counts of armed robbery and one count each of attempted armed robbery and armed burglary, according to arrest reports.
According to reports, the charges stem from three distinct robberies and one robbery attempt, all occurring this month.
According to reports, on August 3, Collot was allegedly responsible for an armed robbery at the Family Dollar at 55 Northwest 119th Street in North Miami.
He entered dressed in all black, complete with a mask, rucksack, and black hat with a yellow Ferrari insignia, chose several products, and approached a clerk, saying, “Do as I say; you have a family. Put all of the money from the register into the bag. “I have a gun,” the reports stated.
According to reports, Collot drew a revolver from his belt and began counting down, after which the clerk gave him $295 from the cash register.
The attempted robbery occurred the following day, August 4, at the Dollar Tree at 11651 Northwest 27th Avenue in Miami.
According to accounts, an employee was shutting the doors when Collot, who was wearing a mask and brandishing a revolver, approached and aimed the rifle at her before demanding the store keys, her phone, and her ability to unlock the door.
She refused and began to yell, prompting another employee to return and discover the suspect holding a gun at the first employee, according to reports.
Collot pointed the gun at the second employee, who retrieved a revolver from her purse and shot him as he fled on foot, according to accounts.
According to reports, Collot allegedly robbed three Dollar Tree employees at gunpoint on August 6 at the store’s address of 10801 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami.
According to reports, surveillance footage showed him entering the store the night before and hiding himself from employees when it closed at 10:30 p.m.
He remained there until the morning shift employees arrived, at which point they were forced to unlock the safe and pay up $795 to a masked Collot, according to reports.
According to reports, on August 10, Collot entered the Family Dollar at 282 Northeast 135th Street in North Miami dressed in all black with a mask, bag, and the same black hat with a Ferrari emblem and approached a clerk as the store opened.
Collot demanded money, but when the clerk refused, he grabbed a revolver from his waistband and told her, “I’m not going to hurt you, trust me,” according to accounts.
She took $159 from the cash register and put it in his backpack, but he requested all of the money from the safe and stated he’d wait for the five-minute delay before opening it, according to reports.
According to allegations, Collot stole $726 from the safe, totaling around $885.
Collot was identified as having been engaged in multiple robberies in Miami-Dade and Broward counties using the same attire and method of operation, and when he was apprehended on Monday, he was dressed in the same clothing as the Family Dollar robbery, according to sources.
According to records, Collot was placed into jail and is due to appear in bond court later Tuesday.
