4 Taken Into Custody And 4 Wanted In Connection To Over 1,000 Gravesite Thefts In Omaha Metro

More than 1,000 gravesite vases have been reported stolen at two Council Bluffs cemeteries in recent months, police said in a case update Thursday.

Ahead of an afternoon news conference, Council Bluffs Police announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with recent vase thefts at Omaha metro cemeteries.

Shane Jackson, 52, and Frankie Diaz-Lopez, 26, both of Council Bluffs, were detained, as were Miranda Shamblin, 27, of Red Oak, Iowa, and Kenneth Meyerott, 66, who has no fixed address. All were arrested Wednesday on counts of first-degree theft, possession of stolen items, and solicitation of a felony.

According to the announcement, Diaz-Lopez is now serving time in the Douglas County Jail on unrelated crimes.

Kristin Davenport, 44; Tracey Klahn, 50; Patty Vance, 59; and Larry Trusler, 58, are all from Council Bluffs and are still wanted by police. The warrants were issued on Tuesday.

Anyone with information on any of the suspects who are still at large is asked to call 9-1-1 or 712-328-4728; those who choose to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 712-328-7867 or submit an online tip.
