A man has been arrested after authorities say he threatened to detonate a bomb at a federal immigration facility in Dallas on Monday evening.
According to investigators, at 6:30 p.m., Bratton Dean Wilkinson, 35, approached the entrance of the ICE field office near North Stemmons Freeway and informed security officers that he had explosives in his backpack and a detonator tied to his wrist.
Police and a bomb squad hurried to the area, and the building was immediately placed on lockdown. Officials said the all-clear came less than an hour later, and no explosives were discovered.
Wilkinson is charged with making a terroristic threat. According to Homeland Security officials, the incident occurred amid a surge in threats and assaults on immigration officers around the nation.
