19 People Shot And 7 Killed, During Weekend In Mayor Johnson’s Chicago

During the weekend in Mayor Brandon Johnson’s (D) Chicago, at least 19 individuals were shot, seven of them fatally.

According to CBS News, the first deadly shooting of the weekend happened on Friday at 9:30 p.m. “in the 1300 block of South Michigan Avenue.” Two men got into a dispute, and a gun was drawn, which was fired as the two men wrestled over it. A man, 31, was fatally shot in the head.

The second deadly shooting took place Saturday around 10:13 a.m. “in the 3000 block of West Polk Street.” Someone approached a man outdoors and fired a gun, shooting him several times and killing him.

At 10:49 a.m., a 42-year-old male was discovered shot to death inside a home “in the 300 block of West 93rd Street.”

The fourth deadly shooting of the weekend was discovered about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday “near the 35th/Archer Chicago Transit Authority Orange Line stop in the 3500 block of South Leavitt Street.” A 26-year-old male was shot in the upper torso and declared dead on the scene.

At 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, officers discovered a 32-year-old man on the ground “in the 4800 block of West Fulton Street.” The individual received several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The sixth deadly shooting of the weekend occurred “in the 4800 block of West Fulton Street,” where ABC 7 reported that a 32-year-old male was shot multiple times. The 32-year-old was transported to the hospital but died from his injuries.

The seventh fatal shooting of the weekend happened at a gas station shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday. Police responded to the petrol station “at 45 N. Western Ave.,” where they discovered a 21-year-old guy shot in the head. He perished on the scene.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that 281 people had been killed in Chicago so far this year.
