Denver Man Sentenced After Being Found With More Than 11 Pounds Of Cocaine And Guns

A Denver man was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison after being discovered with numerous pounds of cocaine and guns in a 2022 bust.

According to a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office, Judge Andrew Luxen sentenced Isaiah Vigil to 18 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute narcotics and violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act.

Vigil was arrested in the fall of 2022 following an investigation by the Violent Criminal Enterprise Task Force, a joint effort between the Denver Police Department and the FBI.

Vigil was one of four suspects who all pleaded guilty and were jailed last year. Ivan Galindo Mancha, the ringleader of the group, was sentenced to 19 years in prison. Alan Ugues-Mancha and Gerardo Salazar were sentenced to 16 years, according to the announcement.

When the four were apprehended, authorities discovered more than 11 pounds of cocaine, 13 guns, and more than $120,000 in cash, which was believed to be the profits of drug transactions.

Vigil pleaded guilty to the charges in July.

“The heavy sentences imposed on these four men ensures that they will not be able to peddle dangerous drugs on the streets of Denver,” District Attorney John Walsh said in the release.

“The sentences highlight the thorough and exemplary work of our investigators and law enforcement partners in holding these offenders responsible,” Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said. “This is just one example of the outstanding and exhaustive efforts members of the Denver Police Department apply daily to ensure the safety of our city.”
