A 38-year-old woman was detained early on October 2 after a traffic stop revealed cocaine, a firearm, and nearly $10,000 in cash, according to the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office.
Josefina Lopez Gomez, of Houston, Texas, was charged with possessing a controlled drug with the intent to deliver.
At 12:31 a.m., Deputy A. Camarillo performed a traffic stop in the 12600 block of the Gulf Freeway for a speeding infraction. Lopez Gomez informed the deputy that she was undocumented and had a handgun. The Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office reported that a search of the vehicle, which Lopez Gomez consented to, discovered 20.8 grams of cocaine, $9,999 in currency, and a pistol.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted the felony charge against Lopez Gomez. She was taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and jailed without incident. Her bond has been set to $10,000.
