Eric Karch, 53, of Jenkintown, was named as one of 17 alleged child predators detained as part of the Bensalem Police Department’s months-long investigation into cyber crimes against children, according to NBC10.
Detectives from Bensalem posed as children as part of the continuing inquiry. Karch was arrested in Bensalem on September 11 after riding a SEPTA bus from his Jenkintown home to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old female.
Police identified Karch, a longtime SEPTA employee, as a “traveler” along with other alleged predators from West Chester, Mays Landing (NJ), Frederick (MD), and Philadelphia.
“Their intentions were clear to us in law enforcement,” Bensalem Police Director of Public Safety William said. “They traveled to a specific location at times with condoms or candy in their possession at the time of the arrest.”
