A Clarksville man was charged with assaulting a coworker at a gas station on Jolly Way in Cadiz on Monday morning.
Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas says they were called to an argument between 45-year-old Johnny Phillips and a coworker and discovered he had physically abused the victim, beating him with a fencing tool and holding a knife to his throat while threatening to kill him.
Phillips reportedly fled the scene in a business vehicle, leaving suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia on the ground.
Oak Grove Police spotted Phillips at the Pilot Travel Center on Fort Campbell Boulevard, and Cadiz Police arrested him.
Phillips has been charged with first-degree assault, possession of marijuana, and third-degree terroristic threats.
