5 People Arrested In Galveston County After Multi-state Organized Theft Investigation

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has arrested five people following a months-long investigation into a large-scale stealing scheme that spanned Texas and Ohio.

The investigation began in August 2025, when deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Michael Patrick. Officers discovered Patrick in possession of marijuana as well as a number of pieces of industrial equipment and products that were thought to have been stolen. Patrick was arrested on the scene.

A later search of a La Marque residence on Bayou Road turned up a large quantity of industrial parts and supplies, marijuana, THC wax, and many guns. Investigators eventually established that the majority of the recovered material had been stolen from sites in Texas and Ohio.

Following the inquiry, officials found and detained other people for their roles in the organized theft enterprise. On November 17, 2025, the following people were arrested on outstanding warrants for involvement in organized criminal activity:

  • Michael Ryan Patrick, 41 – No bond
  • Antonio Garza, 45 – $1,000,000 bond
  • Ruth Patrick, 35 – $100,000 bond
  • Herve Yemey, 33 – $100,000 bond
  • Brad Edward Goldsberry, 40 – $1,000,000 bond

The Major Crimes Unit praised the Crime Scene Unit, the Fugitive Apprehension Division, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office in Lima, Ohio, for working together to apprehend the criminals safely.

The inquiry is still ongoing, with police looking into new clues. No additional information is being shared at this time.
