Ocala Woman Arrested At Bar After Over 100 MPH Chase

A 21-year-old Ocala woman was arrested outside a local bar after reportedly leading Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a high-speed chase with speeds exceeding 100 mph.

On Thursday, November 20, an MCSO deputy observed a gray sedan driving at a high speed on SE Maricamp Road. According to the arrest record, the deputy used radar to determine that the car was moving at 112 miles per hour in a regulated 50-mph zone.

Another deputy witnessed the vehicle speeding at the intersection of SE 58th Avenue and SE Maricamp Road before heading west on SE Maricamp Road. According to the report, a third deputy joined the pursuit when the car drove onto SE 44th Avenue Road, and the high-speed chase continued on SE 38th Street.

According to the complaint, officers lost sight of the car between the intersection of SE 38th Street and SE Baseline Road.

The vehicle was eventually found in the parking lot of a bar on SE 58th Avenue. One of the deputies involved in the original pursuit spoke with a woman named Courtney Makenah Yvonne Frazier, who allegedly said, “I was leaving y’all’s (expletive); y’all need faster cars.”

According to the report, Frazier informed the deputy that she was aware that “law enforcement was behind her” during the high-speed pursuit.

In the bar’s parking area, the vehicle “stopped next to a large steel storage container” that had incurred damage. The report also revealed that the sedan sustained significant damage, and investigators found Frazier’s driver’s license inside.

Frazier was arrested and brought into the Marion County Jail. She was released the same day after posting bond, and she faces charges of running to elude a law enforcement officer.

According to Marion County Court records, Frazier is represented by Pravesh Bobby Rumalla, an Ocala attorney. Fraizer is set to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23.
