Police are requesting the public for immediate assistance in identifying a missing 17-year-old kid who may be in danger after leaving his home early Monday morning.
Dominik Merced was last seen wandering out from his home in the 2500 block of Oneida Lane on Monday morning, December 23. Authorities suspect that Dominik’s medical condition poses a significant risk if he is not located promptly.
Dominik is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. He was last spotted wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gold lettering and Grinch-themed pajama pants. Police believe he may have fled with extra clothing and has changed outfits since.
Investigators also believe Dominik was wearing a lavender-colored, cloud-shaped backpack with linked limbs and legs, which could assist the public in identifying him.
Naperville is in DuPage County, roughly 30 miles west of downtown Chicago, and police are urging residents in the western suburbs and the larger Chicagoland area to remain vigilant.
Anyone who sees Dominik or feels they have information about his whereabouts should phone 9-1-1 right away so that cops can direct them to his location. Tips can also be submitted directly to the Naperville Police Department Tip Line at 630-548-2955 or via email at [email protected].
Police warn that even little details can be vital in safely locating the missing teen.
