A 32-year-old man from Edmond, Oklahoma, was arrested for allegedly making death threats against a Texas judge regarding a speeding ticket issued in December 2025. The arrest came after the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to look into the matter.
On January 7, 2026, OSBI special agents and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended the suspect, identified as Omar Khalad, in Norman, Oklahoma. Khalad was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on charges of Terroristic Threat Against a Peace Officer/Judge, according to an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation press release.
Khalad is set to be extradited to Texas for prosecution. The investigation is still underway, and the OSBI expressed gratitude to the Texas Rangers, the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma.
