A physician assistant from Oakland Park was taken into custody after she offered cash to a Medley police officer in an attempt to avoid charges, and she was later found with suspected cocaine, authorities said.
Marissa Amina Kazim was arrested Monday night in the 7000 block of Northwest 75th Street after security at an Unrivaled Basketball game claimed she refused to leave, according to an arrest record.
Kazim, 34, ignored multiple warnings before cops placed her for trespassing, authorities said.
While being transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, Kazim allegedly offered the arresting officer $1,000, which was later increased to $5,000, in an attempt to get the incident dropped.
According to authorities, she stated, “Just let me go, my family has a lot of money.”
According to the report, correctional personnel recovered a clear plastic bag in her pocket containing a white powdered material that officers identified as possible cocaine.
Kazim was charged with bribery of a public worker, possession of a controlled substance, and trespassing on property despite warning.
Police stated she exhibited unusual conduct during transit, such as fast speaking and mood swings.
