A Columbus man received an unexpected holiday surprise when his family’s tradition of exchanging lottery scratch-off tickets resulted in a $100,000 prize.
The man stated that his father provides Ohio Lottery scratch-off tickets to family members each year. This time, the Holiday Lucky Times 10 ticket yielded several $10,000 wins.
“They just kept coming,” the winner stated, adding that his father watched in bewilderment as the money accumulated.
The total award was $100,000. After paying state and federal taxes, the man received $73,250, according to lottery officials.
The winning $5 scratch-off ticket was purchased from a Kroger on Broad Street in Pataskala.
The top prize for Holiday Lucky Times 10 is $100,000, and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.58. The Ohio Lottery reported that three top prizes remained available as of January 26.
