A Chicago man has been charged with the attempted murder of a 23-year-old man in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.
Jonathan Smith, 30, of Chicago, faces two felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, two felony counts of aggravated discharge of a handgun at an inhabited vehicle, and one felony count of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm.
Smith was detained on February 10 in the 0-100 block of East 75th Street.
He was identified as the suspect who shot and injured a 23-year-old man in the 4800 block of S. Elizabeth Street on Jan. 24.
During the incident, Smith allegedly shot at a 28-year-old man and a 4-month-old boy inside a car, but did not strike them.
Smith’s next court date is set for Friday.
